From Inaugural Cohort to Continued Impact: Introducing OGFP Cohort II
Building on the success of our inaugural fellowship to prepare the next generation of globally minded leaders.

Last year, Diplomatic Perspective proudly launched the inaugural Oriadha Global Fellowship Program (OGFP), creating opportunities for students across Prince George's County to develop leadership skills, engage in civic learning, connect with mentors, and explore global issues.
Through educational workshops, leadership experiences, mentorship, community engagement activities, and cultural learning opportunities, Cohort I demonstrated the impact of investing in young people and preparing them to become informed, engaged, and globally minded leaders.
"We extend our sincere gratitude to our students, families, alumni, community partners, and supporters whose encouragement and commitment helped make the inaugural fellowship a success."
Today, we are excited to announce the launch of OGFP Cohort II for the 2026-2027 program year.
Building on the Success of Cohort I
While the mission of the Oriadha Global Fellowship Program remains the same, Cohort II introduces a new fellowship structure designed to better support students throughout different stages of their leadership journey.
The fellowship continues to focus on leadership development, civic engagement, diplomacy, global learning, mentorship, and creating opportunities that help students prepare for future academic, professional, and personal success.
This year, students can participate through one of two fellowship pathways.
Introducing Our New Fellowship Pathways
OGFP Core Fellowship(Grades 9-10) | OGFP Advanced Fellowship(Grades 11-12 & Alumni) |
The Core Fellowship is designed for students beginning their leadership journey.
| The Advanced Fellowship is designed for upper-level students and alumni ready to deepen their leadership experience.

What Continues to Make OGFP Unique
Although Cohort II introduces new opportunities, many of the experiences that made Cohort I successful remain at the heart of the fellowship.
Participants can expect:
✅ Leadership development and professional growth
✅ Civic engagement and community-based learning experiences
✅ Mentorship and networking opportunities
✅ Exposure to diplomacy and international affairs
✅ Global learning and cultural exposure
✅ Connections with fellow students, alumni, professionals, and community leaders
✅ Completion stipend or college scholarship opportunities
Why Join OGFP?
OGFP provides students with opportunities that extend beyond the traditional classroom experience. Through leadership development, civic engagement, mentorship, and global learning opportunities, fellows gain the skills, knowledge, and connections needed to succeed in school, their communities, and future careers.
Students who participate in OGFP have opportunities to:
Develop leadership and communication skills
Build meaningful relationships with mentors and professionals
Explore college and career pathways
Learn about diplomacy, international affairs, and global issues
Engage in community service and civic leadership

Expand their network of peers, professionals, and community leaders
Prepare for future academic and professional opportunities
Participate in transformative international and cultural learning experiences
Whether students are exploring leadership for the first time or looking to further develop their skills, OGFP provides a supportive environment that encourages personal growth, community involvement, and global engagement.
Global Learning Beyond the Classroom
One of the most transformative aspects of OGFP is its commitment to providing students with opportunities to experience the world beyond their local communities.
Students who successfully complete the fellowship may be eligible to participate in a fully funded international educational and cultural immersion experience in Africa or Asia in 2027.
These experiences are designed to broaden students' perspectives, strengthen cross-cultural understanding, and deepen their appreciation for global citizenship.

Looking Ahead
The launch of Cohort II marks an exciting new chapter for the Oriadha Global Fellowship Program.
What started last year as an inaugural fellowship has continued to grow into a meaningful leadership opportunity for students throughout Prince George's County. By combining leadership development, civic engagement, mentorship, global learning, and international experiences, OGFP is helping prepare the next generation of leaders to make meaningful contributions within their communities and beyond.
As we welcome a new class of fellows, we remain grateful to everyone who has supported the growth of the program and look forward to continuing this journey together.
